MaSU (KEI) and FOMUS
MASU PHOTO is a photography project by MaSU (KEI), founder of FOMUS. Carrying a masu — a traditional Japanese wooden vessel — MaSU photographs the people and places met along the way. The project has been photographed in 20 countries and published as 13 photo books, all free to read on this site.
The photographer
MaSU (KEI) — Keisuke Masuo — is the founder and representative of FOMUS. MaSU is the photographer of MASU PHOTO, from the first volume in Japan in 2022 to the Bahrain volume in 2026.

FOMUS LLC (合同会社FOMUS, founded October 2022) designs masu made from Japanese hinoki cypress for gifts, businesses and international presentation. Its own processing options include a waterproof coating for professional use, gold leaf, laser printing and branding-iron marks, and masu can be personalised from a single piece.
